On June 18, 144 real estate professionals from across the region gathered at Avery Ranch Golf Club for the inaugural Realty Austin Compass Broker Invitational, a golf tournament benefiting Foundation Communities.
Representing 13 brokerages, participants came together not only for friendly competition but to make a lasting impact. Over 18 holes, players networked with peers, engaged with event sponsors, and supported a cause centered on helping local families thrive.
“It’s truly extraordinary to witness real estate professionals from a wide range of brokerages come together for a shared purpose,” said Lyzet Pierce, Culture Program Manager at Realty Austin Compass. “Events like this remind us that beyond competition, we all share a commitment to building a stronger, more connected community. By setting aside individual brands to support Foundation Communities, we demonstrate the true heart of real estate: service, unity, and impact.”
Supporting local students through foundation communities
Proceeds from the event helped cover classroom technology costs for nearly 400 students at Foundation Communities’ Learning Centers throughout Austin. These centers offer safe, supportive spaces for kids to learn, gain confidence, and build a sense of belonging.
“We are so grateful to Realty Austin Compass for organizing this event and donating the proceeds,” said Miller Wilbourn, Senior Manager of Corporate & Volunteer Engagement at Foundation Communities. “All of the funds raised will go toward school supplies, programming, technology, healthy snacks, and backpacks—everything our kids need to start the school year off strong.”
In addition to the tournament, Foundation Communities is hosting its annual Back to School Drive from July 7 through August 1. The initiative supports children at 16 Learning Centers in Austin and North Texas by providing fully stocked backpacks and ongoing access to after-school programming. This year’s goal is to raise $100,000 to meet growing community needs.
Driving change, on and off the course
Realty Austin Compass has partnered with Foundation Communities for over a decade, supporting its mission to provide not just affordable housing, but also financial coaching, ESL classes, free tax prep, wellness education, and academic support at 31 properties across Central Texas.
The Broker Invitational was more than a day on the course—it was a show of collective commitment to creating opportunity and equity for local families. In coming together to support this work, Austin’s real estate community is helping build a stronger, more inclusive city, making meaningful moves both on and off the green.
